Job Title: Seasonal Fireworks Tent Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, motivated, and responsible Seasonal Fireworks Tent Operator to manage and run a retail fireworks location for the upcoming season. As a Tent Operator, you are essentially running your own independent business under our brand.
Instead of an hourly wage, this position offers high earning potential with a 10% commission on all gross sales generated by your tent. If you are a self-starter with great leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the drive to maximize sales, this is the perfect summer opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Oversee the complete daily setup, teardown, inventory tracking, and point-of-sale (POS) operations of the fireworks tent.
- Sales & Customer Service: Actively engage with customers, provide product recommendations, up-sell packages, and ensure a fun, energetic, and safe shopping experience.
- Inventory Control: Receive, count, and organize inventory shipments. Ensure products are attractively displayed and well-stocked.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly enforce all local, state, and federal fireworks regulations, including age verification for purchases, maintaining safety distances, and keeping fire extinguishers on hand.
- Security: Ensure the tent and product inventory are secure at all times.
Compensation & Benefits
- Commission-Based Pay: Earn 10% of gross sales from your tent location. Your hard work directly dictates your paycheck—higher sales mean a higher payout.
- Comprehensive Training: We provide full training on product knowledge, safety regulations, merchandising, and POS system operation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old (required for fireworks licensing and compliance in most jurisdictions).
- Experience: Previous experience in retail management, sales, or running a small business is highly preferred.
- Availability: Must have open availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays (especially leading up to and including the 4th of July).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs regularly, stand for long periods, and work in outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Skills: Strong communication, basic math/accounting skills, trustworthiness, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Background: Must pass a standard background check.
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a short-term, high-intensity seasonal position typically spanning from mid/late June through July 6th (exact dates depend on local laws). Operators are expected to be on-site or ensure reliable coverage during all legal operating hours, as peak days require long hours.
